Program Description: The Brenau Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology began in 2003 and is designed to provide training that is consistent with a scientist-practitioner model of Clinical Counseling Psychology. The 55 credit-hour co-educational program is housed on the Gainesville campus and admits 15-20 students each fall semester. Full-time students can complete the program in 2 years while part-time students can complete the program in 3 to 4 years. Accreditation: The Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology at Brenau is accredited by the Master's of Psychology Accreditation Council (MPAC). Brenau University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and educational specialist degrees. Eligibility Requirements: The ideal MPSY candidate will have a 3.0 or greater GPA and will score a 1000 or greater on the GRE exam. Candidates are not required to have majored in psychology but must take a few prerequisite courses before taking some of the graduate courses. Interested candidates must fill out the Brenau University graduate application form as well as the Clinical Counseling Psychology application form. All transcripts should be sent directly to Office of Graduate Admissions. We require two (2) letters of recommendation that should be sent to Graduate Admissions. Applicants need to take the standard GRE and have the official scores forwarded to Brenau's Admissions office. Applicants should submit a writing sample that consists of a 2-3 page essay on "How Brenau University's Clinical Counseling Psychology Program Will Be a Good Fit for My Career Interests." All qualifying candidates who complete the application process will be interviewed by two faculty members. # of Credits Required: 55 credit hours
